1995 Suzuki Jimny Automatic JDM Model

Up for sale is a 1995 Suzuki Jimny JA22. This vehicle is a Japanese Kei car, and was never sold in America, it was imported to Guam where I purchased it and had it shipped back to Pittsburgh once I left the Navy. This vehicle is quite unique as it features a 660 cc DOHC aluminum block 3-cylinder K6A engine, and a turbo with an intercooler.

The 1995 model of Jimny was the first to receive coil over suspension as opposed to leaf spring suspension in the Japanese market. Also uncommon for this vehicle is the fact that it features an Automatic transmission as opposed to Manual. The JA22 model was a more expensive package than the JA11 Jimny, as it features an upgraded K6A engine over the F6A engine, as well as individual rear seats that fold up as opposed to a bench seat.

The raised canopy “Safari Roof” was an option from Suzuki that was less common than the standard flat roof. The Jimny is 2WD with the ability to switch to 4WD. The engine runs well, and all exterior lights, turn signals, and dash lights are still functional. The interior is clean with original floor mats as well as aftermarket ones included. Of note is the odometer reads in KM/HR, not MPH, and all instructions are in Japanese characters. 93,740 miles on it.

The Compass/Altimeter as seen above the center control panel was disconnected by the previous owner, so I can not attest to its function, and the interior ceiling light has also been disconnected prior to my purchase of it. The fender mirror housing is included, but is missing the glass, and is not connected to the body. The AC Unit is cool and functional, front windows roll down, the rear windows latch open and shut.

The previous owner has installed a 2” body lift kit, so there is room for larger tires in the wheel wells if a higher ground clearance is desired. As can be seen in the photos, the Jimny was rolled on its side, and has suffered some body damage, scuffed/removed paint, and a broken window on the top right of the vehicle. I have spoken with a body shop, and for paint/some of the body work he quoted me at about 1k. I have not looked extensively into glasswork for the roof window myself but there are shops in the area that will look at it. The car still drives perfectly well but these issues should be addressed to preserve this very rare and unique vehicle.

I have not found any Jimnys for sale in the States with the same specs as the one listed here, even its domestic version called the Samurai has become increasingly less common. I have included the customs paperwork used to import the vehicle legally thru the Navy, as well as an engine manual and other documentation. I have included a set of Suzuki seatbelt covers and tire valve stem caps as well. I truly love this vehicle and have had a great time with it, however I believe it is time for it to find an owner who can give it the treatment and attention that it deserves, especially since I can not keep it in a garage for the winter. I am more than happy to provide additional photos or information to anyone interested.
