Just testing the water to see if there is any interest in this Samurai. Picked it up because it is pretty clean and rust free but now has been sitting around for couple years taking up space in my shop. Haven’t driven it much, did for a little when I first got it but is in storage now, engine and original carb have been supposedly rebuilt (no documentation) and it does always fire right up and purr like a little sewing machine and dist housing and top of trans are nice and dry along with the rest of the motor, doesn’t drip anything.

Tires are 90% tread and no signs of dry rot, only one doesn’t match, body is very rust free, floors are all solid, fenders too, windshield frame has some surfacy stuff but not cancer, glass is all good. Have fender flares and bumper ends just need put on, lights all work, heater and blower controls all work ( you still have to switch hot and cold under the hood with pliers of course ) windows dont rattle etc, has pretty fresh soft top too. NOT LIFTED, has 2 inch hitch insert on the back that was well done.

So why would I sell this wonderful little gem you might ask, I can only drive one samurai at a time and I would just feel bad beating on this one. It is taking up space and I could use the money for other stuff. Thinking about slimming down the herd and this one is worth the most, but I am not desperate to sell, in fact kinda sad because there aren’t many this nice around here that are rust free, unlifted and unmolested and pulled behind a camper their whole life blah blah blah…

Now you might want to know what is waiting to bite you in the rear upon purchase, I will honestly tell you every little problem I am aware of, most notably the rear axle is likely junk, I have one with good tight bearings etc that is removed and ready to go in but if I have to put it there its gonna cost you more, door cards are kinda tired, driver seat isn’t great (but not that bad) body is not rusty but does have some dings and bumps, rims have some rusting, paint is factory but not superb, aside from the rear axle it is mechanically pretty sound and everything works, it drives fine, just noticed the wheel bearings had some play and the diff is noisy, you could probably drive it for 20000 miles without anything falling off but if I kept it I would replace the axle.

So by now you probably want to know how much you would have to pay for this beast…. $4000, not a penny less. I have plenty of other parts to fix anything that is remotely wrong with it but we would have to work something out, or I could get it totally ship shape and then sell it to you but of course more $, have white hardtop too for right $. Or if you are crazy like me and really want to get into samurais I have five or six other ones in varying states of disrepair along with totes of parts, engines, tranys, etc etc and you could make me an offer on the whole kitten caboodle. wont sell the fixers separate, all or nothing on them.

Would I trade? maaayyybe, things of interest would be tintop in similar condition, good IMPORT minivan or 4 door suv, maybe a old school blazer but would have to be cherry with 4.3, longtail mud motor. Could add or take cash too if the deal is right.
