Seller Write-Up
Located in Grants Pass, Oregon. Comes with tow bar and custom bumper mounts.
I’ve put a lot into it over the years. If I could keep it and still afford a full size truck I definitely would. I bought it from K&L Budget Muffler and Performance (Grants Pass, Oregon) a few years ago, and at that time I was told the engine had been rebuilt, it got a solid tune up, and the transmission had been geared for the larger tires.
I’m mechanical but not a gear head so I do not know the specifics on those gears and I never got any specifics about the engine rebuild. It runs great, it has never put me on the side of the road ever.
It has some upgrades:
- Rally Tops hard top with sliding windows
- Warn winch is old but works great – Custom front bumper
- Custom tow bar mounts
- Weber carb with manual choke
- Stainless Doug Thorley Headers plus new Magnaflow muffler
- Mighty Kong TCase cradle on rebuilt Transfer case
- Deluxe SPOA Lift Kit
- Old man Emu steering shock
- 31 inch tires with plenty of tread
- Black Metal door handles
- Racing Seats
And lots of recent work done (Trail Tough is down the road) with paperwork:
- Transfer case rebuild
- Rear differential rebuild
- Axle shafts replaced
- Front end Rebuild
- Wheel hubs rebuild
- New clutch
- New timing belt
- Plugs, Hoses, Alt, Battery
It comes with:
- Transmission Rebuild Kit with Synchro’s, in the box
- Weber Carb rebuild kit in the box
- The old clutch, it wasn’t as bad as we thought, but replaced it anyway.
- Tow bar
It could probably use:
- A new gasket between the carb adapter plate and the intake
- A paint job
- Some body work
- Some seats that are actually comfortable
- Some electrical work on the interior (heater control wiring, radio, and 12v outlets.
- Those aftermarket metal door skins
The big repair that will be down the road for this Sammi is the tranny, hence the rebuild kit.
Everything works fine, there are some bearing noises at high speed and the input bearing (i think) is making noise when you let the clutch out in neutral. Hasn’t changed at all the last three years. I’ve changed the fluid not too long ago as well.
