More Details & Pictures

I hate to do this, but I’m finally selling my baby. It’s not perfect, but everything works and it has a lot of extras. All original motor, well maintained. Not only will it pass smog, it crushes it! Every year my smog guy says it runs like a new car.

Looking at other Samurais? You want a hard top. In a soft top you can’t even hear yourself think while driving it’s so loud. For security you want the hard top, trust me. And have you found one with air conditioning? That works? No way. Not until now! I installed the AC myself in August of 2014. I had the R22 removed and refilled it with R134. It blows as cold as when it was new and doesn’t stink. Don’t even think about a non-AC car in California; you know that’s crazy.

Interior looks great. The seats under the covers look good. Door panels look good. Dash looks good. Glove box has a working lock, same key as ignition. Thule roof rack with keys (great for snowboards and surfboards) and a basket for all the extras. I’m a non-smoker, and there is no “old car funk” smell.

Radio was replaced with single CD detachable faceplate. Speakers do pretty well. I added a blue digital clock. This is the JX model (vs JA), so you get a RPM gauge (that works). Odometer works, trip odometer works, temp gauge works, gas gauge works.

Wipers work, windshield washer sprayer works, rear glass defroster works, interior light works (on both doors), CB radio works, seat adjustments work… literally everything works!

Newer General AT tires. All five, rotated properly, so the spare isn’t left out. Original white paint and red stripes. I LOVE it, so I haven’t had it repainted. I put the Jeep “trail rated” badges on for fun, Jeep guys turn their heads at it! Yeah, a Samurai will float right by a stock Jeep in the dirt. I’ve not taken this Samurai off road, but I’ve had two other Samurais and they are great in the dirt! Manually locking front hubs are in great shape and still turn by hand as they should. I even have the rear hub dust covers on it – I’ve never even seen another Samurai with those still on.

It weighs only 2300 lbs and is set-up and ready to flat tow behind your motorhome – which is why I bought it. The front mount is welded on, I have the tow bar for you, and the magnetic lights. I’ve flat towed it countless times with no issue at all. I even added a 4-pin wire set so you can use it to tow a small trailer with a jet ski or lighter motorcycle (total under 1,000 lbs). I’ve done that too. I suspect it has had many, many, miles added by being flat towed behind an RV. A toad ready to be tow’d!

Extras you get:
~ a spare carburetor
~ a ready spare transfer case!
~ a spare intake manifold
~ a huge plastic bin of small bits and parts
~ a stock front bull bar
~ Haynes repair manual
~ Chilton repair manual
~ AC installation guide
~ all equipment needed to safely flat tow it

I mentioned it wasn’t perfect and if I had the time to work on it, I wouldn’t be selling it. Things I would like to correct:
~ needs to straighten the steering wheel, but it drives straight
~ a little rust under the windshield
~ swap out the noisy t-case

I get asked a lot, “Would this be okay as a daily driver?” and here is the answer:

This Samurai has been super reliable for me as a daily driver for my 32 mile round trip M-F work routine. Never broke down once. I haven’t even had to tinker on the motor for TWO YEARS except this month (Sept 2018), when I cleaned up the carburetor a bit so that it runs better when cold.

Clean title, in hand. I’ll meet you at a nearby Starbucks. It’s priced below it’s value, so MY PRICE IS FIRM. If you find a similar Samurai, or get a beater and fix it up to be like mine, with all the extras I’m giving you, would cost you around $10,000.

Call or text 9am to 5pm to arrange a time to meet to see it.
