Hello and thanks for looking at my samurai. It is a 2 wheel drive (again, it is a 2 wheel drive). The body is in amazing shape and i was told by previous owner it was a southern vehicle. Looking underneath pretty much says he wasn’t lying. I have 7 samurais and this one is locked in a tie for best body and under carriage condition.
What is good?
It runs well and started up after a shot of starting fluid after having sat all winter
check out the one picture that shows the stereo mounting – i had it professionally machined because i could never find a good way to hold the stereo in place. (i had more made up for the rest of my fleet and still have a couple of spares

the bad
1) you have to know how rpms in each gear translates into speed because for some unholy reason there is not a place in the drivetrain to hook up the speedometer. Trust me i’ve had plenty replaced but you would need to know more than i or my mechanic know to get this working. I could make you a card for each gear and rpms and equate that to speed. I’ve been driving samurais since 1990 so i’m pretty used to driving without even looking at the speedometer but this is an issue. This issue is why i’m pricing it where it is even though the body is great.
2) the person that transformed it into a 2 wheel drive set it up so that the rear tires turn together. This makes for a little bit of chatter if you pull the wheel completely to one side. Otherwise it is not noticeable.
