Seller Write-Up
This family that had it in California and moved to Washington. That’s why no rust, original paint, no damage other than small wear marks and dings.
It was bought by a retired professional mechanic friend of mine. He went through many mechanical areas when he bought it. Like me it was a hobby project type thing. A list of areas he worked on. Timing belt, tune-up, compression check etc..
New alternator, starter motor, water pump, battery, exhaust, shocks. He checked the clutch and brakes and states they are 80%. He installed a power steering assembly using a donor steering box, pump and bought the conversion kit for from Low Range 4X4. Steers very nice. Runs excellent.
He sold it to me for $12,000 which was the original purchase and the parts he installed. No labor charged. I am a retired ICAR certified mechanic but retired and am 76 years old. I continued to improve this cool little rig. I bought a new steering box to tighten up the power steering. Installed a new winch bumper and Warn 8000 winch.
An auxiliary battery and solenoid. All new alloy wheels inc the spare. Tires are BF Goodrich AT and have less than 1000 miles on them. I bought new bucket seats by Bestop and retrofitted them to the seat tracks. I changed all the gear fluid to synthetic. Replaced the rear u-joints.
They seemed dry and ruff. Put a steering stabilizer on it for road worthy performance. High output headlamps and driving lights which come on with the hi beam switch. Auxiliary fuel can to have a little more range. It gets @ 24mpg.
I live in Twisp which is @ 4 1/2 hours from Seattle. I bought it to drive around the mountain roads with my wife. We had fun with it. Suspension ride is great.
We’ve decided to use the money from the sale to other uses.
